I derive my inspiration  from the continuing fascination of the geometric and simple graphic forms and shapes of the city and hillside villages.

Printmaking is the main media through which I explore my ideas, alongside the ceramic sculpture 'Cityscapes', giving my work another dimension.
I specialize in collagraph print to achieve texture and depth.   I am interested in the organic palette and forms of nature, in particular trees, hillsides and the moors, which again are processed in printmaking. The Yorkshire countryside around me is subject for my inspiration.

I was born in the Netherlands and spent my childhood there, until my marriage and then moved to England. The village where I lived is situated on the edge of a large forest, this explains my fascination and interest of the sculptural forms of the bark of pine trees in particular, which I use in print.

Important artists who inspire me are Piet Mondrian, a Dutch painter, who lived in the early 1900s.
His work consisting of abstract painting, was carried out in the latter part of his life. Sue Lawty, a Hebden Bridge based contemporary textile artist, attracts my attention with the natural materials she works with and the structure she uses in any medium.
